Journey to La Palma, the “Isla Bonita” of the Canaries, for a spring photography experience that captures the island’s volcanic beauty, dramatic peaks, and star-filled skies. Timed to coincide with the bloom of the Tajinaste flowers and the return of the Milky Way core, this 6-day guided photo tour is a paradise for both landscape and astrophotography lovers.

• Volcanic landscapes: Photograph ancient calderas, lava fields, and rugged coastlines in otherworldly morning and evening light.

• Tajinaste in bloom: Capture vibrant pink tajinaste flowers - towering native plants that bloom briefly each spring, creating stunning contrasts against dark volcanic soil.

• Milky Way magic: With La Palma’s clear, dark skies and low light pollution, you’ll have optimal conditions for nightscapes and Milky Way shots from iconic viewpoints like Roque de los Muchachos.

• Golden hour to galaxy core: Days are filled with scouting and shooting dramatic terrain, while nights focus on astrophotography techniques, composition, and timing.

• Diverse microclimates: From misty laurel forests to sunlit ridges above the clouds, La Palma offers an incredible variety of scenes in a compact area.

• Guided by me: Receive expert, hands-on instruction in both landscape and night photography - from exposure blending to advanced editing techniques.

What is included?

- Daily landscape and several nightscape shootings with tips, guidelines and personal feedback. 

- Accommodation  (private room with private bathroom)

- Transportation throughout the entire trip on the island

- Entrance to national parks

- Daily breakfast, lunch and dinner. Breakfast will be served in the hotel and all dinners in a restaurant. Lunch will be in both restaurants and self made lunch from the supermarket. 

- When we are in the accommodation you will be guided during the post processing of your photos if wanted

- Use of swimming pool

- Some snacks and fruit

What is not included?

- Your flight ticket to Santa Cruz de La Palma Airport

- Travel insurance (very important)

- Cancellation insurance (optional)

- Alcoholic beverages

- Souvenirs or other non-food things

What to bring with you:

- Summer clothes (but some warm clothes too)

- Proper hiking shoes/boots

- Your camera and charger

- Lenses like zoom-, prime-, wide-angle- and telelens as they are all very suitable

- Filterset for your lens (ND filter, Gradient Filter, etc)

- Tripod

- Your drone if you have one (not necessary but offers extra photo opportunities)

- Your toiletries 

- Swimsuit

Difficulty: Easy but sometimes fairly moderate (some short hikes are involved with proper elevation gain)
